What-is-National-Nest-Box-Week Chestnut Mill

What is National Nest Box Week?

Created by the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) in 1997, National Nestbox Week is a week long drive to ask and encourage members of the public to put up nest boxes in their gardens to help garden birds as they start their breeding season.  For 2022 it officially runs from the 14th -20th February, but nest boxes can be put up before this and as early as the autumn before.

Mid February is the start of the breeding season for birds and is a time when they become very active and vocal (you may have noticed an increase in bird song recently) as they begin to establish breeding territories and attract a mate to nest with.

Here at Chestnut Mill we try to do our bit by supporting Nest Box Week.  We offer a range of nest boxes suitable for a wide variety of wild and garden birds.  From Blue Tits and Robins to Owls and Kestrels.  You can check them out here.  We will be posting advice and tips throughout the week so keep an eye on our social media and website blogs for further information.

Special Offer 10% OFF all Nest Boxes

As a thank you for taking part we are also offering 10% OFF all nest boxes until the end of 20th February.  Simply use discount code NB2022 at check out.
